Electricity
Just when I think life without a printer is hard, the electricity goes out. Couldn’t shower (no lights), get on the internet, and consequently could not read assignments. It was actually good as it forced me to get out. Glad it’s back though. As if a printer was a big deal - silly me.
Printers
Don’t it always seem to go that you don’t know what you got till it’s gone. Never been so true. Try writing out lyrics and chords for a group of 15 people to sing for a house dedication in Alabama. The church we were staying at had no printer or photocopier (to my knowledge) so I realized just how wonderful printers are this reading week. It also gave me an appreciation for the...

If you’re moved by any kind of injustice, inequality, hatred, racism, unsustainable process, or just any kind of social, economic, or any kind of issue that isn’t yourself, you’ve probably thought of ways that this issue can be solved.
But maybe you’ve only thought of one way.

The Great Commission
jeremyenns:
“And he had given them one command as their commission: make disciples. Do with others what I have done with you, Jesus had said. Don’t sit in a classroom; share your lives. Don’t build extravagant places; build extraordinary people. Make disciples who will make disciples who will make disciples, and together multiply this gospel to all peoples. This is the simple command that was to...
School
I am currently experiencing one of the best living and studying situations in the world. Do I appreciate it? Yes. Am I thankful? Yes. Then perhaps I should start acting like it.

a prof decides the whole class deserves a 7% raise on their quiz because he took a week to mark it. A whole week?! What a jerk. I’m used to having to wait a whole month to get stuff back.

Easier than expected midterms
So, the prof warned us the midterm was going to be really hard. Yesterday, he showed the exam to the dean and was told it was way too hard. He proceeded to remove the hardest 20% of the exam. Hence, I nailed it!
Simple Fixes
Printer was proclaiming “E” on it’s display, which I interpretted to mean “Error”. Seeing as there was no colour ink cartridge in it, I figured that was the issue. Put a cartridge in there and still “E”. Then I tried the old blow-in-the-nintendo trick and voila, we’re back in business.

Music and only music
So often we just use music as a filler, and as much as it’s fantastic to have a theme song to our lives, I like we lose a few important things:
1) We take for granted that up until the last 5-10 years you couldn’t have music playing every second of your life wherever you went. And not long before that you had to hire someone if you wanted to hear music. The idea of a machine making...

Healthy Family
Today my Grandma lost feeling in one side of her body and went to the hospital in an ambulance. She’s stable now.

Government
Although they may lie and cheat, not follow through with their promises … and did I say lie already? I know that the alternatives are far scarier and takes us to a place I don’t even want to consider. We need only look around the world to see our options. God keep our land glorious and free, thanks.

Wise Men
Sometimes you meet people who just make you feel stupid and foolish, even though they don’t try to. Kind of like if Jupiter and Pluto hung out.
Soft Tissues

Smells and Tastes
Don’t it always seem to go that you don’t know what you got till it’s gone. I haven’t smelt or tasted (at least not fully) for 3 weeks now cause I’m sick. Boy do I miss it. I’m sure it will be awesome having those senses back though when I clear up.
Muscles
You don’t remember what they’ve done until a day or two after they’ve done it. What unsung heroes they are. But when you remember, boy do you remember.

Ray of Hope
I’m thankful that though I didn’t see it, all summer long they continued to provide thousands of people thousands of meals, among many other services. Want to see what it’s about, Thursday nights myself and a few others grab a bus from the DC at 6:15pm. PS: If anyone has connections to size 12 shoes that they would be able to donate, I have a friend who’s brother needs a...

Self-Control
Y’know, like when I see everyone else playing ultimate but don’t play cause if I want to get well I need to take it easy. That’s my definition.
Mercies
They’re new every morning. Every morning thus far, I wake up and I try to breathe in and it works. I eat, and my body still decides that it knows what to do with a bowl of vector, and all along, my heart continues to beat… just cause. I can’t assume these things will always work. These are the miracles that we miss.

Learning new Sports
Just learned how to play the only racquet sport I didn’t know how to. Dad took me to learn Racquetball tonight. Ironically, the only racquet sport I’d never played was “raquetball”. Anywho, it was fun and there’s some neat strategy involved. I could see it growing on me, but I’ll probably stick with squash. If you’ve never seen racquetball, I’m...
Good Politicians
They exist. Cheers to Jack for finding truth and declaring it: “love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we’ll change the world.”
Agreeing to Disagree
If there’s one way to grow, be challenged, and build a strong relationship, it’s through disagreement - so long as that disagreement is not passionately and angrily fueled.
Wounds Heal
Take this how you want to for yourself, but I’m just thankful that we don’t retain marks on our skin from every single time we were injured. As a side note, emotional wounds heal too but often times that’s based on our ability to forgive, so forgive someone today, nobody likes scars.
Board Games
Specifically Antike. Love that game. Thankful that almost everyone enjoys a good boardgame.
Hillsong United
Went to their concert tonight. Those folks’ve got passion and a desire to see a lost world saved. I love it! Love going to concerts where those on stage recognize that their role is to bring glory to God and lead the crowd to do the same.
